4 Year Olds – Possums
At Elonera, we feel that your child’s 4 year old kindergarten year should enable your child to blossom and grow in a safe, happy nurturing environment. We believe that children learn through play and through their interactions with their peers and caring adults. We also believe the family is the most important influence in a child’s life and aim to provide a family orientated service where families feel welcomed and included. The kindergarten program offers a play based curriculum founded on the Reggio Emilia philosophy, aimed at supporting the development of the ‘whole child’ and which extends and encourages the interests, needs and strengths of individual and groups of children.
We are proud to offer two 4 year old kindergarten groups. Our Bush Kinder group (Koalas) runs during term 2 & 3 only and takes place at Braeside Park during the Friday morning session. Please click here to find out more about our Bush Kinder program.
TUESDAYS: 8.30am – 4pm
THURSDAYS: 8.30am – 4pm
Fees are $540 per term and include all excursions and incursions as well as two terms of playball. Excursions and incursions alter each year as we tailor them to the interests of the children.
The enrolments for 4 year old kinder at Elonera are processed by the City of Kingston’s Central Enrolment Scheme. For further information please contact the City of Kingston on 1300 653 356.
For information regarding our 4yr old program please contact the enrolment officer via email or on 0408 020 961.
Our educators are all nurturing professionals who provide a secure environment for your child to enjoy and grow in, with qualified Early Childhood teachers co-ordinating both the 3yo and 4yo groups. Please find our Statement of Philosophy here.
Our stimulating program provides experiences which extend and encourage the children’s Language, Physical, Cognitive, Social and Emotional, and Creative development. Through their play and interactions with their peers and adults, the children are encouraged to explore and experiment, plan and problem solve, and make choices. Through these interactions, the children develop self esteem; a respect for others and their ideas; an ability to communicate; a sense of belonging and ability to participate in and feel comfortable in a group situation.
Best thing I ever did was send my son to Elonera. So much better than doing 4 year old kinder in a day care setting. Grounds and teachers are amazing. The best experience!

Brilliant kinder. Can’t compliment the teachers and assistants enough. And my boys loved running around the spacious grounds, a great way to burn energy.
