Can’t believe we’re about to jump in to term 3 at Elonera!
The last weeks of term 2 saw us celebrate the Winter Solstice festival, which the Kangaroo children were so proud of. They especially enjoyed making pumpkin soup in our session and enjoying the fire on the night, so we hope so incorporate both of these experiences into the program in term 3.
The Kangaroo children have also shown a keen interest and impressive skill during some music sessions we have included recently. From songs where the children can come up and take turns to lead the group, to whole group instrumental sessions playing various percussion, the children have been very enthusiastic about participating in this. Again, this is something we hope to extend upon in term 3.
Another emerging interest area of the Kangaroo group is Outer Space; from planets and the moon, to rockets, spaceships and satellites, we are intending to investigate space over the coming weeks at kinder in a range of play experiences, including art, block play, outdoor play, stories and music.
I look forward to connecting individually with Kangaroo parents at the upcoming parent teacher interviews in week three of this term. These interviews will be imperative to set goals for children, address any concerns and ensure the rest of the year is a happy and productive one for each child.
