Term 3 has been absolutely jam-packed in the Kangaroo group! We have been exploring outer space and our solar system during the beginning of Term 3, as many children were interested in rockets, space travel, astronauts, the moon and planets. The children worked creatively to paint their own planet using glitter paint and a golf ball. We have also been learning about the planets during group time, through discussion, story and song, as will continue in other areas of the curriculum including “moon sand” sensory play, drawing, play dough and block/construction play.
The children’s engagement with these learning experiences has been incredible, as this enormous unit of learning unfolded, lead predominantly by the children’s curiosity and commitment.
The coming weeks are just as busy with incursions from Bunnings and the Parkdale Library, Book Week, Fathers Day and Footy Day! We look forward to a busy and eventful rest of the term!
