Hello Families,
Welcome back to Term 4, I am sure everyone is gearing up for a busy couple of months ahead full of end of year celebrations and of course the visit from the man in the big red suit.
A very big thank you to everyone who attended the working bee at the start of term and to our grounds team Michelle and Ines for coordinating. I am sure you will agree the grounds are looking fabulous. The entrance has had a revamp and the extension of the garden path was definitely a hit with the children. We still have some finishing touches with the addition of the mosaic mural that Chelsey has so kindly been leading and installation of more green tunnels to bring some more ‘magic’ to the garden.
We heard just last week we were successful in a government grant which will help in funding these last finishing touches and a few other minor things. This grant has also allowed money to be reallocated to some much needed indoor renovations which have been approved by committee and planned for completion in the school holidays.
In preparing for next year the committee held a welcome afternoon tea for families attending Elonera next year and those interested in understanding a bit about the committee of management and ways to be involved. It was a great afternoon with many yummy treats (thank you to those parents who contributed) and most importantly many excited children getting to know the kindergarten they have been passing and talking about with their parents.
The committee of management is an essential group made of volunteer parents. All the roles on committee will be declared open at the AGM held on Monday 20th November 2017. In addition to voting on committee positions, we will provide a full wrap of the year, review of our financials! If you are considering any roles on committee and would like to know more you can request a PD from secretary@elonerapreschool.com.au and/or please feel free to approach the person in the current role. All the committee members and their contact details can be found on the Elonera website.
Reminder that the Twilight Market will be held on Friday 24th November 2017. There will be lots of entertainment for the kids as well as market stalls both Elonera sponsored and community hosted. If you can come along please do, last year was lots of fun with a great atmosphere.
